South Dakota Governor's Hunt Set for This Weekend
Oct. 22, 2010South Dakota's Invitational Governor's Hunt is set to take place this weekend in central South Dakota. The Governor's hunt, based out of Pierre, SD has been an annual event since the early 80's when it was resurrected by Governor Bill Janklow as an economic development effort to bring in business leaders interested in relocating their company to South Dakota.
Mother Nature decided give pheasant hunters some sunshine for the 2009 South Dakota pheasant opener, but that doesn't necessarily mean blue skies for those chasing roosters.
South Dakota pheasant season opens this weekend - Oct. 16, 2009
The 2009 regular pheasant season opens at noon on Saturday. Clear skies and highs in the 40s and 50s are expected for the opening weekend with winds from the south at 15 to 20 mph across the state.
