California Pheasant Hunting Information

Continued drought coupled with ongoing habitat loss set the stage for a sub-par pheasant hunting season in California. Though state harvest totals are unavailable, combined state wildlife and federal wildlife refuge harvest last was down 33 percent last year. The Sacramento Valley, San Joaquin Valley, and the Sacramento River/San Joaquin River delta area remain the most notable pheasant hunting destinations in the state, but a spot to keep in the rotation should be the Butte Sink WMA in Butte County. * Season Dates: November 14 thru December 27 * Daily Bag / Possession Limits: 2 for first two days of season, 3 for duration / Double daily bag
