    Certainly can't hurt along with a tailgate check at the end of the hunt. Check ears, eyes, nose, and mouth etc.. even feet....

    So I assume this is all foxtail around my Britt (circa an early season 2011 duck hunt). Had no clue and I am sure few still do.

    That is foxtail barley, probably one of the tamest mean seeds.

    Not realizing the danger at the time, it still remains one of my favorite photos. Lucky I suppose.

    Good article. If your vet does not treat many bird dogs, you may need to advocate for your dog and have the vet consider awns.

    WOW, yes that is bad bad stuff. Not tame at all. Your lucky. I know several dead dogs from that variety. Steer clear, and destroy when you can. That grows best on mowed areas.
