    Anyone know of hunting preserves within 2 hours of NYC?

    Springs Farm, Sag Harbor 1hr and 10mins east of NYC pheasants and ducks..

    Do you know that the state stocks pheasant 3 times a week on Long Island and 2 times a week in the lower Hudson Valley? Near me, in upstate NY, they only stock once a week, and only for a bout 3 weeks. Why in the world pay to hunt on a preserve when you all you need to do is have a hunting license and obey the regulations, without paying anyone or asking anyone permission? Those State DEC birds are as wild as the wind too. I have hunted on clubs and commercial preserves and the experience was much different.
