    You could go up to the Brainard Lake area near Nederland. There is a fair share of public areas up there along with trails. Only issue you might run into would be the number of people you’ll run into during the weekend. Archery season is in full swing so there will be other hunters in the woods. If you run into an archer ask about grouse. They tend to run into them while stalking.

    Thanks! I will definitely look into it. How about off of the top of Vail Pass, does that area hold any? Thanks again

    They can be found there. You’ll burn a lot of boot leather. Main issue with Vail Pass is the trees are pretty tight and dense making shots difficult when birds flush into the trees.
    Wear some blaze orange. The big game guys are there in force.
