Woodward county quail
Looking to join up on some land with a few people around Woodward county.
What are the quail numbers like and what should we expect/look for when assessing tracts of land.
I’ve hunted quail in Kansas and south Texas. Just not familiar with this area.

Quail numbers are down considerably from 14-16 but there are still a few decent pockets. You'll want to look for a lot of the same things you look for in Kansas and Texas to find birds... edges of crop fields/weed patches, brushy fencerows and draws, etc.

That particular area might not have the ag as say central Kansas. If I was looking to get in a place out there, I’d compare its cover to cooper WMA just north of town. Best I’ve hunted out there was rolling hills-typical western OK habitat.
