Guys,

Now is the time to get into the Soil Conservation Office and talk over next year projects. In South Dakota you can apply for grants to help restore old shelter belts. And there are programs to help in reducing personal cost for installing new shelter belts. Also the new Farm bill should be voted on soon. So they well be able to help you with CRP, CSP and ASAP programs for habitat. Wet land buffer program is also a good topic to discuss. Pheasants Forever has a program to help seed native grasses onto Saline land. Plus more and more data is coming out of cover crop incentives. Next years Tree and Bush orders normally need to be in by mid November. Just want to give you a heads up so as your hunting this Fall and see what your property produces or doesn't produce you can be thinking about next years options.
