First day back at it after a sad week or so off. Why is it still so hot?

Slow opening weekend but it was fun to be out there. Three roosters between my brother and I.

Took some buddies out Saturday for a impromptu chukar hunt. Amazing group of friends. After our initial plans fell through we regrouped, pointed the trucks towards the nearest hills, dropped a mongrel pack of dogs, and moved 3 coveys of chukar, 5 coveys of quail, and a handful of snipe.

Leaving tomorrow am and heading to Kansas. Hoping to get into a few prairie chickens and a bunch of bobwhites.

It's been a rough go in Kansas. A blizzard blew us out the first day and then drifted, crusty snow made the hunting tough but we're finding success.

Kansas was good to us. I actually shot a limit of roosters (4) over staunch points from Lady one day. It's the best picture of the trip but it won't upload for some reason.

Even picked up a litter mate to my Lady dog on the way home.

Finally got the best pic to upload. Lady worked like an absolute star that day and all four roosters were shot over staunch points and beautiful dog work.
