    Default Good Stuff

Had a great day out in the fields with a friend. We saw a good number of birds. Many flushed wild. The dogs did well. Colorado needs moisture.

If you're hunting this weekend, good luck.

    Great video as always..
Hunted Saturday and Sunday. Temps were under ten with wind chills running minus 8 or less. First few walks were short. Birds really stuck and were bunched. Dog work was great I just wish my shooting matched. Overall put 5 birds on the ground. Bumped three big coveys of quail. Fun watching them fly. I won’t shoot quail when the temps are so cold.

Sounds like 2 great days. Congratulations. What type of gloves do you wear when hunting in really frigid temperatures? I have been wrapping my hand with a heating element under my gloves.

I use just medium fleece gloves. If my hands get really cold I use wool fingerless gloves inside the fleece. Seems to work for me. I have used thinsulate liners inside the glove too..

Thanks for the insight. I will try the liner.

Cool video! Do you run your camera all day and then edit out most of the day for those few moments of excitement? Seems like a lot of time filming grass... Not being a smart ass, only wondering about the time involved in editing.

Thanks Todd. I use a GoPro Hero 4 and 7 batteries. I record all day. Years ago, I would forget to turn it on or run out of battery life. I missed some great footage. That does not happen anymore. The editing is easy. I load all of the video in the Microsoft video editor and go from there. The process takes a couple of hours if we shoot some birds. Thanks for watching.

Hey Walk213, I had a great time hunting with you last Thursday and I'm glad we were able to get into some birds. Echo did great and she is an awesome hunting partner and companion, kudos to you and APL for raising such a fine dog. We need to do this more often! Proud to call you a friend.
