I have no experience on the prairie but my favorite upland boot for the hills and mountains of Pennsylvania is the Schnee Beartooth mid-height. They are more expensive than I would prefer but they...
Not sure. I took it to maybe be an insult to me for being a noob pheasant hunter. I really don't know. I have pretty much settled on Kansas anyway.
It looks like I am the first poster here. I spent the past few days in Vermont and was really impressed by the habitat. The Champlain Valley with all of the fallow fields and cat tail sloughs looks...
Nothing wrong with deer hunting but you and other young people have a chance to bring pheasant and quail hunting back. I hope you can.
Good to hear that young guys are still getting into hunting and fishing. Pheasant hunting in PA is not what it used to be but you are in one of the best areas.
Okay. I’m a Villanova basketball fan and they have had some battles with Iowa over the past few years.
I'm new too but welcome. I am hoping to take a trip to Iowa (or Kansas) for some pheasant hunting this year. Are you an Univerity of Iowa sports fan?
I can’t help with quail other than meet for some long distance hunting. I do have a cabin in Vermont and a place in Pennsylvania if you want to meet for a hunt. PA has good deer numbers but not...
I’m way late but if you are going this year and schedules align, I’d love to take a trip out. I am primarily a northeastern ruffed grouse hunter but am interested in wild pheasants. I have been...
I edited it. I am surprised that there are still wild birds. My family has owned property in Berks for over 50 years. As a kid, seeing pheasants was common. I remember chasing quail with a bb gun...

Good point
That’s a shame. I spend weekends in Berks County. I’m going to try to get involved there. It would be nice to see less pointless mowing.
I see that the WPRA program seems to be shrinking. What’s going on? Has the State concluded that pheasants can no longer sustain a wild population in PA?
If so, that is really disappointing.
