Our group seems to run into a skunk or four every year. This is our "battle plan". In the truck, we keep a couple of rolls of paper towel, a box...

Nor did I say they were counted in Kansas harvest numbers. However there are quite a few Kansas CSAs and if you choose to hunt one of those,...

OK, Kansas. In Kansas they call them Controlled Shooting Areas. Same deal; pay to shoot primarily released birds. I cannot find any totals for the...

  1. Hi Jon!

Didn't notice the message right off, my apologies for a late reply.

Yes, I'm living in Texas right now, South of Fort Worth. Lived in Kansas for many, many years and chased pheasant there.

I still have family in Kansas City, so I generally drive there and spend the night. Depending on various factors I sometimes will stay over a day in KC to see the relatives. But one night or two, from there I go on and do an enroute rendezvous on I-29 with my longtime hunting partners that also drive to SD from other states. We then form a caravan to the happy hunting grounds.

This year I will be traveling North from KC on Friday the 20th. If he'd like to join the caravan on that leg, let me know.

Alternatively, I'll be driving to KC on Wednesday the 18th if present plans hold. I go up I-35N (West) from Ft. Worth, basically up through Denton and Gainesville into Oklahoma. He's welcome to caravan on that leg as well.

    Let me know.

    Best Regards,
    John

Just noticed you hail from TX. My nephew lives just north of Dallas and pheasant hunts with me (uncle) in SD. He drives all the way by himself. Wonder if you two should meet on of these day's? He is a Lab man, 57? is a fisherman and pheasant enthusiast. Just a thought. Jon
