Just read your message. That is great that you are taking your son. I have been trying to talk my son into taking my grandsons but with the rules the school district has he has yet to take them. I will talk him into it before I get to old to go.
I have always had Brittany spaniels until last season. I did get another pup in January but I got a German Wirehaired Pointer. The wirehair has alot of energy. Hard for this old man to keep up. I took her to North Dakota with my old Brittany (10 Yr) this last season and had a blast. I being 60 years old hope that I can keep up with her in the future so she can have the fun and expericence she deserves.
    I live in Pocatello.
I will be watching for your posts. I always like to hear how other birdhunters are doing. Good luck with your son and enjoy your time together in the field. It goes by way to fast and when they get older they have so many other things going.

    Hi,

I was reading some of the posts on the Idaho board and see that you go to North Dakota a couple of times a years. I also go to North Dakota. One time for the earlier warmer hunt around the 1st of November and then again around the first or second week of December for the more fun hunt when the birds get bunched up and they are beautiful because they have all of thier feathers grown out. Where do you usually go. I hunt around the Regent/Mott area because I know a family that I used to work with in Pocatello that is up there. I also hunt the PLOTS alot. I do not like the army style hunting. I usually go by myself or with my son if he can get the time off. One thing is for sure. It does not get much better than North Dakota for pheasants. I wake up every morning thinking about my dogs and going to North Dakota in the fall.
