I just received a new Cabelas catalog or dream book and they have the Remington HyperSonic Steel shotgun shells, kinda slow only 1700 fps, yeh I'd say HyperSonic. They claim
a blistering 1,700 fps muzzle velocity
shortens leads up to 8'' at 40 yds
Xelerator wad for consistent pattern
Remington harnesses two-stage ignition technology to safely accelerate full-shot payloads to hypersonic speed. Its newly designed primer starts by lighting a smaller powder charge, which moves the payload forward to safely manage the pressures of the primary powder charge. During primary charge ignition, its exclusive Xelerator wad delivers tighter downrange patterns and improves long-range hit potential For a box of 25 shells
12 Ga. 3 inch 1 1/4 oz of # 4 shot $20.99
12 Ga. 3 inch 1 1/8 oz of # 4 shot $19.99
12 Ga. 3 1/2 1 3/8 oz of #4 shot $27.99
How many are going to run out and buy some :)

It is getting to be a buck a shot. Deer hunting 2$ a shot. Going to have to make more shots count I guess.

3" 11/4oz at Rogers Sporting goods. $189.99 a case with Free Shipping.

I have some 11/8oz #2 Hyper Sonic Steel.

Patterned with my Cynergy with Carlson extended Mod tube at 30yards. I had 33 hits in a 12" X 12" target.

Very loud like a 300 Magnum rifle and pretty good recoil

I can only imagine, I think I will stay with the stuff I have, it may not get there in a fraction of a second but they work for me. I would hate to have to recalculate lead with those shells, heck of they are as loud as you say my hunting buddies would probably want to hunt the next section over and my pups would probably want to go with them.

That would just confuse my dog. He wouldn't know know which part to retrieve first. ;)
