Well, the saga about the 16 ga. SxS is over. I bought a "new in the box" BSA Classic 16 ga. SxS. I posted previously about the BSA SxS and it's the same exact gun as the TriStar Brittany. Both made in Spain by Zabala. There is a lot of both good and bad written about these guns but I bought it right and being "NIB" I thought I'd take the chance. She has 26" tubes, single selective trigger, ejectors and choked IC/Mod. Exactly the way I wanted it. Might even think about boring it out to Skeet/IC.

I should have it next week. I'll report back once I can put a few round through it.

Congrats DZ! I have heard good things about the Zabala made TriStar SXSs. They appear to be superior to the OU, from what I have heard. Please let us know how you like it.

AND some pics would be nice too! :)

I'm a little giddy, my Spanish lady is due in tomorrow. I have checked the UPS tracking number half a dozen times today. :D

Good luck with the new shotty George. Its in a great , underappreciated gauge!:10sign:
I like the laidback, rounded grip on a bird gun, sometimes called a POW grip. You might put some time in at a pattern board with some different shells before you mess with those chokes. What's marked on the barrels is not always what shows up in the patterns.

Nice little gun there DZ.

In my opinion the only thing better than a 16sxs in the uplands would be 10 months of perfect weather opening days, with the other 2 months for putting flesh back on the dogs and loading shells!

That A' Boy George rub it in. I swore off of SxS's 2 years ago. I currently have all the O/U's and Auto's I need. In fact I got a new 28 Gauge Remington 1100 with 27 inch barrels with 4 extended choke tubes. Man that is one sweet gun for an old geezer like me. If it didn't go "Bang" you wouldn't even know you were shooting it..........Bob

I finally received the 16 ga. BSA SxS today and it is definately a NIB gun. It had never been out of the box as the forend was still sealed in plastic. Nice wood, and the wood to metal fit is surprisingly good. The safety feels a little rough but I'm sure that will smooth out after some use and the trigger pull is pretty smooth. I think it might be a little heavier than my 16 ga. Citori but it has a real nice balance and between the hands feel so even if it's a couple onces heavier I won't notice it. I guess the true test will be when I get it out to test fire and pattern it, and then shoot some birds.

I have a Zabala 20, mod/ic and it shoots fine. American Arms Derby version which is sidelock. Has been my primary phaesant gun since early '90s.

The safety is still rather stiff on mine after at least a thousand rounds.

Funny you should ask today. This morning I took the dogs to a public hunting area for some exercise and I threw the BSA in the vehicle. After the dogs had their run and were back in the kennels I touched off a few rounds. Everything seemed to work just fine. The ejectors and the SST did what they were suppose to. She did seem to have a little bit of kick that caught me in the cheek a couple of times. I'll have to see if I notice that while hunting. And it seemed a bit difficult to open after firing both barrels. Other than that she appears to function okay. Now I will have to see if it can hit any birds.

When I shoot both barrels my Derby can get a little hard to crack. I had the extractor on left barrel go out last year, and Gary's gun smith fixed it cheap. Seems better than original. I thnk the expansion of shell head does it.
