Upland bird hunting is our passion. Since the property was purchased in the 1990’s, the farm has been converted from irrigated cropland producing wheat, corn and alfalfa to irrigated habitat. Horseshoe Curve Hunt Club has a mixture of native grasses interspersed with multiple food plots. The Umatilla River bisects the farm and the river corridor is lined with brush, trees and grasses. Taken as a whole, the Horseshoe Curve Hunt Club is a hunters oasis. We have an abundance of native birds. Mainly ringnecks and California quail. Over the years, we have supplemented those with Melanistic pheasants, chukar and bobwhite. With a significant amount of acreage dedicated to tall native grasses and all of the food plots left unharvested, we have a great carryover and substantial natural breeding. Our bird hunting season starts in September. Many hunters combine a hunting trip with the Pendleton Round-up or a golf trip at several of our local courses. We hunt all through the Fall and into the Spring, with our season closing March 31. Hunters can expect to take all species during their trip to the Club. We offer guided hunts or allow self guided for those who want to work their own dogs. If you are looking for the hunt of a lifetime… hunting like the “good old days” where the cover was excellent, the birds plentiful… then the Horseshoe Curve Hunt Club is the place for you.
