Pheasants Forever announces the completion of 1 million acres of habitat accomplishments in Iowa since the first Iowa chapter formed in 1984. With Pheasants Forever's marquee event, National Pheasant Fest 2010, in Des Moines this weekend, "PF" members and sponsors will celebrate the 1,000,000 acres of habitat work accomplished by Pheasants Forever in the state. National Pheasant Fest is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

National Pheasant Fest Draws 20,230 to Des Moines; Heading to Omaha in '11 - Feb. 28, 2010
Des Moines, Iowa - February 28 - Pheasants Forever's National Pheasant Fest wrapped up today after drawing 20,230 attendees to the Iowa Events Center. The highlight of the event came on Saturday afternoon when U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced a new Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) general signup and the reallocation of 300,000 acres into three popular wildlife practices within CRP.

Big Lottery Winner - Minnesota's Natural Resources - Feb. 23, 2010
Saint Paul, Minn. - February 23 - Whether you win or lose playing the Minnesota State Lottery, Minnesota's natural resources always win. Minnesota's Habitat Conservation Partnership announces the completion of 32,334 acres of habitat improvements during the fourth phase of funding. Funds for these projects were provided by the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources. Trust Fund dollars originate through the Minnesota State Lottery.

Sheboygan's Carreno Named PF Youth Ed Leader in Wis. - Feb. 18, 2010
Sheboygan, Wis. - February 18 - Pheasants Forever has named Beth Carreno of Sheboygan as its new Youth Education Coordinator for Wisconsin. The brand new position was made possible with the help of Wisconsin Pheasants Forever chapters, the James E. Dutton Foundation and a grant from the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin.

Six Ohio Pheasants Forever Chapters Receive Awards - Feb. 10, 2010
Waldo, Ohio - February 10 - Ohio Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever recognized chapters and individuals from across the state for their wildlife habitat conservation efforts at its recent state convention. Those efforts helped improve more than 21,600 acres for wildlife in the past year. The Mercer County Pheasants Forever chapter received multiple honors for its conservation work.

USDA Secretary Vilsack Returning to Iowa to Attend National Pheasant Fest - Feb. 10, 2010
Des Moines, Iowa - February 10 - Pheasants Forever has confirmed U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will attend National Pheasant Fest 2010. Vilsack, the former Governor of Iowa, is slated to give the keynote address at the Pheasant Fest luncheon on Saturday, February 27th at noon. Immediately following the luncheon, Secretary Vilsack will sign a first-ever Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency, and Pheasants Forever.
