A parade of nearly 40 sporting dog breeds will open Pheasants Forever's National Pheasant Fest 2011 at Omaha's Qwest Center on Friday, January 28th. Nebraska outdoor personality Greg Wagner will serve as Grand Marshal of the National Pheasant Fest Bird Dog Parade.
From Boykins to Brittanys, German Shorthairs to German Longhairs, Goldens to Gordons, Labs to Llewellins, Springers to Setters, Wirehairs to Weimeraners, if it hunts, you'll find it in the Bird Dog Parade. The parade will begin at 12:50PM at the main lobby of the Qwest Center, leading to the ribbon cutting ceremony for National Pheasant Fest 2011. Bird dogs are annually the top attraction at Pheasants Forever's largest event, which runs through the weekend.
"The Bird Dog Parade is a one-of-a-kind spectacle, and it's an honor to lead this diverse group of dogs and their owners on behalf of Pheasants Forever," said Wagner, the widely known public information officer for the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission based in Omaha.
"The last time Nebraska hosted National Pheasant Fest was 2005, and Pheasants Forever started the Bird Dog Parade tradition in 2007, so this is a first of sorts," said Bob St.Pierre, Pheasants Forever's Vice President of Marketing, "This is a unique opportunity to see some of the rarer sporting dog breeds that, while uncommon, have dedicated followings across the country, including Poodles, Wachtelhunds, Clumber Spaniels, Blue Picardy Spaniels, Italian Spinones and more."
The Bird Dog Parade is presented by Native dog food, the Official Dog Food of Pheasants Forever.
