Kansas may soon have an Inviitational Governor's Hunt of its own.
If Republican Sam Brownback wins the race for Governor in Kansas he said that he will begin a Governor's Invitational Pheasant Hunt as a way to make Kansas the top pheasant hunting destination in the midwest.
South Dakota receives more than 220 million dollars of economic activity with Pheasant Hunting alone, and Brownback has stated that his hunt would run much like South Dakota's has for years, inviting business leaders and decision makers from across the country for a weekend of pheasant hunting and networking.
South Dakota may be losing its Invitational Governor's Hunt next year as Governor Mike Rounds finishes his term in January.
While pheasant hunting in Kansas may not have the resources and steam behind it that South Dakota has, its a great thing that its wildlife and outdoor resources are being discussed during this election.

It will bring money to Kansas no doubt, but at what price? Do we want to commercialize hunting like South Dakota has?
