The Ruffed Grouse Society is providing an opportunity to win a very special shotgun. The centerpiece of an ambitious promotion is a new Parker Gun AAHE 28-gauge side-by-side commissioned by the Remington Arms Company, Inc.
The Ruffed Grouse Society will sell 1,000 chances on the Parker, which retails for $49,000, with the winner announced after April 14, 2007.
Tickets cost $100 each. Remington announced an exclusive offering of the Parker AAHE 28-gauge side-by-side in the fall of 2005. As with each Parker, the RGS gun is handconstructed with the finest exhibition-grade wood, intricate checkering and elaborate engraving.
According to Art Wheaton, a Parker historian, this “new” Parker is built exactly the same as those made years ago in Meriden, Connecticut, and Ilion, New York. “The money raised through this extraordinary opportunity,” explained Michael Zagata, RGS executive director, “will help to fund the Society’s ongoing conservation and forest management efforts.”
