Where to go in ND

I have been hunting MT for years but with $4 gas and a difficult lodging situation I have decided spend some time in ND. I am not looking so much for specfic spots to hunt but more of "what county/region" is good for pheasant and has lots of plots land. Hotel recommendations would be welcome also. I would prefer to stay east of the missouri river. Any help would be greatly appreiciated.

By reputation and experience, SW ND is great. I've been SE and SW once each, and SW was best hands down. Basically the high plains of the Great Plains are generally better than the eastern part.

pretty much pay to play up there too, just like SD.
