Better Pheasant Hunting in Northeast our Southeast Nebraska

Ok I know that everyone says that eastern Nebraska is bad for pheasants this year and the SW or Central is better, BUT I'm in the Omaha area and am going to be going out with some guys this week and we can't drive far. So... does anyone have any experience to suggest whether we would we be better off to go NORTH or SOUTH in Eastern Nebraska? If you have any counties that you hunted in and would suggest as really BAD or GOOD that would be helpful too. Thanks!

PS. this will be my first pheasant hunt out with my 1yr Boykin Spaniel so I'm looking forward to see how he does on my amateur training
