I hate to do this, but I'm looking to give away a couple shorthair pups I've got.

I acquired these two pups (male and female) appx 2 yrs ago. They were given to me as kind of a rescue. I was fired up to begin training them when I got them and about two weeks after getting them, the wife & I found out we were expecting our 3rd child.
Well we went into panic mode and the dogs went on the back burner. Bottom line is I don't have time to treat them to the time they deserve. It kills me to give them away, but it makes me feel worse to see them in their pens.

They are purebred, but not papered as the breeder did not register the litter. Breeder told me their grandaddy is Magnum's Touch of Gold. I have a copy of the paperwork on the sire, but I don't have it with me right now.
They will be 3 y/o in Feb. They are green and will need work. Both love water and the male loves to retrieve. No guarantees they will work out, but I'd like for someone to give them a chance.

They can be had as a pair or I can split them. I will travel within reason from SWMO if someone needs them delivered somewhere.
I hope someone is interested as I'd love to see these pups get a chance to reach their potential.
Send me a pm on here & I'll get back to you.

Thanks

I have rescued or in this case taken many dogs from similar situations and they have turned out great so I am sure they will be OK. If you can't find someone to take them, you might try http://www.onpointrescue.com/ they are the Missouri rescue organization. Do you have any pictures? If so, the members here could show them around and possibly help you out. Good luck with them!

Thanks for the info. I don't have any recent pics of them, but I can get some.

Found the paperwork on the dogs if it's of any interest to anyone.

I might try and scan in a copy of it later, but for now here it is written out:

Sire: BCK Maverick
His sire: NFC FC NRC's Magnum's Touch of Gold
His Dam: Katerina Von Trapp

Dam: Memory of Kassy
Her Sire: CS's Raw-Hided Style
Her Dam: Kassy

I'm going to try and attach the AKC paperwork. I removed the owner's names just as a courtesy.

Let's see if this works

T-Haus, I wonder if you could post a picture or two of the pups. I must be the only pheasant hunter in the world without a loyal hunting companion. I cannot promise anything but am certainly interested. Thanks.

I'd be glad to post a pic or two of them. I've been meaning to take some photos the past few nights, but have been dove hunting when I get home from work and it's dark when i get back.

I bet we pheasant hunted 15-20 yrs with no dogs. Hated to "ruin" a good quail dog on pheasants. We have no quail now, so might as well let a dog hunt when it can.

Lots of opinions on training dogs and I never get in to those discussions. Kinda like telling a fella how to raise his kids. My dogs always did what I wanted and that worked for me.
