Default Variable precipitation

I looked at the year to date precipitation amounts in a few towns in eastern MT. I found quite a variance and have posted the % of normal precipitation as follows;
Culbertson 91%
Glasgow 133%
Malta 102%
Baker 69%
Miles City 46%
Sidney 33%

The Baker, Miles City, and Sidney areas appear to be far behind in precipitation while most of the other cities at near normal levels.

Hope the precip. events in the Culbertson, Glasgow, and Malta areas were conducive to large pheasant hatches and rearing.

We have had decent rain here in Valley county, the crops are looking awesome right now. The best part is the cover that is available for wildlife. Talked to a couple ranchers over by Hinsdale yesterday and they said they are seeing lots of chicks, some are flying all ready! I was over in Medicine Lake, last weekend and heard the same story from farmers over there. However, I was down in Big Timber area on Tues. and the rancher there told me they had an inch of rain on Monday, but before that hardly any moisture, It looked pretty dry in that country.
