I haven't even talked to dad about hunting this year. My buddy that farms out there said that the wheat did pretty good and so is the milo but we didn't discuss the population. I'll start doing some research and get with you.

Hey bud thanks for the update. I envy you for being able to go out and enjoy the outdoors right now. One of my pilots asked me why I seemed down and was not myself, had to tell him that this is the time of year back in the states that I live for and I can't enjoy it. I noticed myself doing this last time during this time of year too. Guess some people get spring fever not me I just want to go out and enjoy a nice crisp fall morning. I hear you about being able to take the little ones out. I plan on setting up a pop up blind this spring and taking mine turkey hunting. My wife is actually taking hunter's education at the moment! I look forward to all the good times to be had in the future. I will keep my fingers crossed that you find some good bird numbers throughout your journey and especially that your dad is somewhat off on his counts. You have some good ground down there and I know how much tradition matters. Keep in touch and tell the family we say hello.

Hey there. Checking in to see how things are going. How was the hunting in January? Did you get out much? Next week I'm taking Lucy to one of the better Texas pointer trainers. He's worked with pointing labs before, and he said he'll know in a few sessions whether or not she can point. Either they got it, or they don't. If she doesn't, I'm going to add a German Shorthair to the family. He's also a quail guide, so i'm getting the low-down on all of the good quail hunting - which apparently isn't much around here anymore. Most of it out west.

Looks like we're leaving KC Friday afternoon and hunting Sat and Sun at the end of the season. As of right now I have 8 guys 2 of which are on the edge. Let me know...

You up for an end of season hunt this year? Our leave date isn't set in stone yet but we're looking at leaving the KC area the 28th sometime.

Hey...thanks for the update...I didnt know if the quail numbers were up or not....in your part of the world....seems like we have a lot in common...would love to talk to you about hunting quail in Ks. and pheasant in SD. let me know if you would like my cell? Thanks..Doug
