View Full Version : Permission Wanted!!!!

Just finished a successful Pheasant season in Utah. Want to still hunt, Never been to SD. Looking for someone that would be willing to give me permission to hunt their land or someone who would like to hunt with us that has access to some land to hunt. There will only be 3 of us and we have our own dog. We are very responsible and respectful of landowner wishes. I am 45, uncle 60 and son in law 22. We would be willing to pay land owner or new hunting partner a reasonable fee or even willing to reciprocate the favor in Utah. We have land in Corrine, Utah. Can hunt during week 1 or 2 days would be fine. Any help would be appreciated. Mike....

It may seem like you are asking for just a little help, when in reality you are asking for alot. I'd suggest you contact some like UGUIDE **. If you google search self-guide or unguided you will find he is not alone in what he offers.
Otherwise it is a knock on the door kind of proposition.
** I have no affiliation with UGUIDE nor have I (yet anyways) hunted one of his operations. Most of his operations demand 4 or 6 hunters ...
Regarding Utah, would believe that few if any would be interested in hunting pheasants out there. Now if you could offer Elk or even skiing ... you might raise an eyebrow.

Although Brittman's response may sound harsh, I think he is right on. I would first decide where you want to hunt, I suggest anywhere as far off the I-90 interstate as you can get and then a little face to face door knocking. Oh yeah a couple of nice Elk Steaks won't hurt. :D

Thanks to all who messaged me. I was quite suprised by the numbers and will be returning all messages. Quick reply to Brittman and Hayduke - I appreciate your comments and I did check out UGuide but it's not what I am looking for. Based on all the responses I have received I have to disagree with both of you in that I wasnt asking for to much. I am one avid hunter asking any other avid hunters to help out someone who enjoys hunting. We allowed 18 people to hunt our land in Utah during our 2 week season this year and didnt charge a dime. Granted Utahs Pheasant Poulation is no where near what SD's is and abviously there are more people there that have businesses for hunting and I am not opposed to that (it's just not for me), but it's not always about money its about the enjoyment of what you can do for someone else. Just my thoughts but I do appreciate you comments. Thanks again to all that responded. Mike....

As you can tell I'm new here and was pleasantly surprised as to the quality and quantity of the responses you got from the members here. I think I'm going to like hanging around this place. I'm glad you found the information you were seeking, Have a great Hunt and maybe we'll run into one another as I spend a great deal of time in SE Utah.
