Pheasant/Quail Stocking Cancelled for Tuesday, December 28 - Dec. 27, 2010Due to inclement weather and in the interest of public safety, the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife advises hunters that pheasant and quail stocking slated for Tuesday, December 28, has been cancelled statewide. Birds scheduled for release on that day will be added to Thursday?s stocking allotment and distributed as originally intended.
Take a Kid Pheasant Hunting Saturday, October 30 - Oct. 25, 2010
The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife reminds young hunters that the popular Take a Kid Hunting programs are in full swing for the fall 2010 season, and more excitement is on the way with Youth Pheasant and Upland Bird hunt day scheduled for Saturday October 30.
Pheasant and Bobwhite Quail Stocking for Central and Southern Region WMAs - Dec. 22, 2009
The NJDEP's Division of Fish and Wildlife has decided that pheasants will be stocked for Thursday, December 24 on central and southern region Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs). The 1,160 pheasants that were not stocked for December 22 on central and southern region WMAs will be evenly distributed amongst the last 3 stocking days in those regions for December 24, 29 and 31. The pheasant stocking allocations for northern region WMAs remain as originally scheduled for December 24, 29 and 31.
NJ Small Game Season Opens November 7 - Oct. 27, 2009
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Division of Fish and Wildlife reminds hunters that the 2009-10 small game seasons for pheasant, bobwhite quail, fox and coyote open 8:00 AM on Saturday, November 7. The seasons for rabbit, hares and squirrel (open since September 26), ruffed grouse and woodcock north of Rt. 70 (open since October 15) and raccoon/opossum (open since October 1) remain open with an 8:00 AM start on November 7.

The Division of Fish and Wildlife will release an additional 1000 to 1500 pheasants on stocked Wildlife Management Areas beginning December 22.
