Bird Dog Parade Wags into Nebraska on January 28th
Jan. 12, 2011A parade of nearly 40 sporting dog breeds will open Pheasants Forever's National Pheasant Fest 2011 at Omaha's Qwest Center on Friday, January 28th. Nebraska outdoor personality Greg Wagner will serve as Grand Marshal of the National Pheasant Fest Bird Dog Parade.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will conduct firearm hunter education apprentice instructor training classes at the Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium, 9 a.m.-noon, Jan. 13, according to Nebraska Hunter Education Coordinator Mike Streeter.

Hunters Reminded to Protect Hunting Dogs from Toxic Algae - Aug. 28, 2006
LINCOLN, NE - Early season bird hunters should take plenty of water into the field for themselves and their dogs and remember that toxic algae that can be fatal to dogs may be present in some lakes and ponds in or near the areas they hunt.
HIP registration is required to hunt migratory birds this fall - Aug. 17, 2006
This years Nebraska dove hunting season opens Sept. 1 and hunters are reminded they must register with the federally mandated Harvest Information Program (HIP) and must carry their registration number with them when hunting any migratory game birds -- dove, duck, geese, snipe, rail, coot or woodcock -- during the 2006 hunting seasons.
