Koeberlein's Hunting Preserve is a family run business. Our hours are very flexible. KHP specializes in dog training and guided hunts for large groups. We have pheasants, chukar, and quail. We use the strongest flying birds possible. The success of a good hunt depends on having birds that are as close to wild birds as you can have in a release system. We hunt upland game strictly in natural grass fields, and we have a few feed plots that aid in our dove hunting season.

The Pheasant is perhaps the most popular of all upland game preserve birds - comprising more than half of all preserve birds harvested in the U.S. While not a native to Southeastern Illinois, they're adaptable enough to be a successful and challenging bird at NILO. We use Springers to flush pheasants rather than point them because we feel the edge of unpredictability adds to the sport.
